PowerShell, the next-generation command-line tool

It is quite common to hear Linux users grumble not only because they are forced to use Windows, but they are not able to use their favorite commands such as “ls”, “cd”, “cat”, “more”, “rm”, etc.

PowerShell is integrated in the system since Windows 7. Already installed, but unfortunately, often ignored. However, PowerShell is the successor to the old MS-DOS command prompt. It allows you to write scripts using the .NET language and therefore use the power of an object-oriented language. The new console includes a large number of commands as well as syntax coloration.

To see all commands available, type Get-Command, the list is rather… long!

Update
Klout has been discontinued in May 2018.

Recently, I have discovered the Klout service.

Klout logo

This service allows you to measure your influence on social networks. Activate your account, link it to your other social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ …) and Klout will rank you by giving you a score between 1 and 100.

A high score means that you are very influential:

  • You have many friends, contacts and followers
  • Your tweets are often retweeted and many people like your posts
  • You tweet and post regularly…

Of course, your score can go up or down depending on your social behavior.

Klout users are also offered perks (gifts) from various partners. Perks are unlocked based on your score, your geographic location, your interests, etc.

Like me, create your account now to know your popularity rank on the web!

Warning! Klout provides only a number not very objective, a low score doesn’t mean that you are wasting your life…
